Jupiter TV Company is the division of Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. in charge of contents business.
The main business of Jupiter TV Company ("Jupiter TV") is the
investment in and operation of specialty channels watched by
viewers of cable television, SKY Perfec TV! and IP multi-channel
broadcasts. As of November 2007, Jupiter had capital stakes in the
17 channels listed below.
All the channels Jupiter Telecommunications invests in are either
number one in their genre or have the potential to become number
one. We at Jupiter TV launch and invest in channels based on this
"number one strategy." We endeavor to produce programs with
high viewer satisfaction ratings so that all of our channels can
become the first choice in their genre among viewers -- and
continue to be the first choice for years to come.

In preparation for the full switchover to digital terrestrial
broadcasting in 2011, the Japanese broadcasting industry is
launching new digital services, beginning with HD broadcasts.
Jupiter TV is leading this movement, working actively with the
channels in our corporate group. We are currently broadcasting,
for cable TV viewers, Discovery HD, a documentary channel
specializing in HD programming, Movie Plus HD, a premium movie
channel, LaLa HD, an entertainment channel targeted at women,
and J sports Plus HD, a premium sports specialty channel.
Founded as a VOD (Video-on-Demand) service provider for cable TV, Jupiter VOD uses the Jupiter TV group's network of partnerships with contents owners and rights holders, both foreign and domestic, to provide cable TV stations with programming in a wide variety of channel genres, including films, dramas, sports, animation and documentaries.
As media diversifies, in line with the diffusion of video services on the Internet and mobile devices, contents use is reaching over the once-formidable barriers between broadcasting and telecommunications. Using the accumulated know-how of the specialty channels in our corporate group, Jupiter TV is developing multi-use systems for providing a variety of original contents.
